Judo Session

Bushido Judo Club is fortunate to have an enthusiastic very knowledgeable 14-member coaching team that provide a high standard friendly judo tuition. Judo training at Bushido Judo Club is an exciting, fun, safe, and supportive experience in a positive environment with the main goal being to learn judo and improve yourself through understanding judo's principles: Respect, Modesty, Sincerity, Friendship, Honour, Politeness and Self-Control.

Every judo session begins with bowing to the instructor/s, this is a display of respect. Throughout the training session judokas (judo players) bow to each other before and after practice.

Typically, a training session begins with general stretching exercises which is a great opportunity to improve general flexibility. After the stretching exercises the session then moves into the warming up exercises. These exercises are usually fairly light with the intent to prepare the judoka for training.

The class then move towards instruction of technique, which is then followed by practice, then revision. Once the technique has been taught, free practice will begin.  Free practice is when judokas have the opportunity to practice their technique on each other.

It is important to note as a sport Judo does not allow hitting with hands or feet, there is no striking of any kind.

Bushido Judo Club sessions are instructional and practical with the attention of coach's assisting and demonstrating as the class is being held. The first session is an open class for all family members to enjoy learning and playing judo. The second session is seniors and advanced students only. On this session the classes are more randori (free practice) based with more an emphasis on learning and practicing senior techniques.
